Stitches of Love

Ever wanted to learn how to knit or crochet?  Ever wanted to help a person no matter what age feel warm and needed?  Then Wednesday at 10 am this is the place for you.  This group of dedicated crafty members make everything from Prayer Shawls and hats to prayer squares and finger labyrinths. They will teach you how to create these wonderful items or if you already know how they would love you to join in the fun and powerful ministry.

PB&J Ministry

Born out of necessity, this powerful ministry provides an ice chest full of Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Thursdays for all who are hungry.  The ice chest is placed just outside the door and has a sign telling all who are hungry to help themselves.  Various members of the church volunteer their time to make and freeze the sandwiches so they can be placed in the chest as it runs empty.  Any where from 40 to 50 sandwiches are taken a day.

Disciples Women Fellowship (DWF)

Every female member of the church is automatically a member of DWF.  They meet monthly for a lunch and meeting.  Sometimes the lunches are held in various member’s homes and occasionally they travel to different destinations through out the great state of Oklahoma.  Besides fellowship time, this group of women also perform service projects and take care of bereavement meals for funerals.  DWF also has Regional and General level involvement as well.

Emergency Food Voucher.

First Christian Church is a participant in the Chickasha Emergency Food Pantry.  A great ministry that helps families and individuals with a few days worth of groceries to help people make it to their next paycheck.  For more information you may visit their web site at

Chickasha Soup Kitchen (CSK)

This newly born ministry is open for business.  First Christian Church of Chickasha was instrumental in the formation of the Chickasha Soup Kitchen to address the needs of the hungry.  This ecumenical effort of combining Time, Talent, and Treasure of the community to aid in a hot meal for lunch on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays to the hungry of our community.  CSK is grateful to Resurrection House in allowing the use of their cafeteria and hopes some day to own our own facility.  For more information visit,
